A History of Pacebi

The Rätist Regime

The existence of the state that we declare today "The People's Republic of Pacebi" may first trace its origins to an online meme about asexuals invading Denmark. However, the first true applications of a home for all queer people under the name Pacebi was in the year 2021. This server was fairly widespread, yet fairly basic. While the interactions and even the base running of the server was done through democratic means, the true power of the leadership was held by a select few, in particular Rät and their regime primarily consisting of cronies.

While this internal democracy led to a period of stability, the facade of self governance and control by the people came tumbling down in the Pacebi Democratic Collapse, a period of instability and rage sparked by the removal of popular figures from roles of moderation and power, leading to mass revolts and conflict among the populace, called the Pacebi Revolution.

The Pacebi Revolution overthrew the Rätist Regime, establishing, under the head of Astatine, the Provisional Republic of Pacebi, a one party state featuring the short-lived National Democratic Coalition Party, led primarily by Tograf. This was meant to be a coalition of every anti-Rätist political member of the server, socialists, liberals, all meshed into one party for the sake of independence. This fragile alliance, however, did not last.

The Provisional Government

While the early days of the Provisional Government were marked by widespread hope and stability, internal drama in the admin prevented power from being consolidated in any form, as well as internal drama tearing apart the new state at the seams. In September of 2022, the First National Elections of the Domestic Government of Pacebi took place, seeking to elect a new president to handle internal conflicts. Of the three running candidates, two were most important: The Ace-Asta ticket, and the Sinistrum-Goose ticket.

Due to widespread controversy regarding Ace and Astatine, the Sinistrum-Goose ticket won easily. However, it was revealed that during the election, Ace had, unknowingly to supporters and even their running mate, illegally added votes to try and inflate their own victory. This was known as the Pacebi Electoral Scandal, and it led to Astatine stepping down as the Chairman of the Provisional Government. This, rather directly, led to the collapse of the Provisional Government, replaced by the Catboi Regime. Astatine left the state for two years following this. Also people realised that there was no point simulating a liberal democracy on a discord server

The Catboi Regime

Following the collapse of the Provisional Government, Catboi was instated under the title of Owner. The start of his regime was largely successful, with a significant reduction in open drama and reforms to the government. This period was also marked by more than a doubling in Pacebi's population owing to more effective rule.

However, internally, the government began to split on politics, factionalising into a socialist faction and a liberal faction. Many members of the liberal faction established a tax haven in an unclaimed region soon to be known as the Doghouse. This initially existed as a means of evading legislation on public nuisance but soon also took on a political role as a base for liberal opposition which soon devolved into anti-Pacebian sentiment. Because the liberal faction held power at the time, the Doghouse was not significantly developed beyond luxurious and hedonistic services. This was also something that Catboi, a moderate with strong ties to the liberal faction, did not speak out against or discourage, and greatly decreased their own legitimacy

In November 2023, when Catboi was doing further reforms on the government, he accidentally messed up the role permissions, leading to the @everyone riots, where everyone in the server was pinged several times due to an oversight enabling it to be pinged. This led to widespread disorderly conduct revealing the incompetence of the Catboi regime, leading to his resignation.

The Unwilling Diarchy (The Grand Schism)

Following the abdication of Catboi due to the riots and an inability to rally power to their side, Catboi abdicated to a member of the Socialist Faction of the coalition government, Darius D. Daystalin. Daystalin was a widespread and well liked member of the community who stayed fairly active, so their consolidation was successful. However, soon after, not due to Daystalin themselves but due to ideological struggles, the coalition government greatly factionalized and split into two major parties: The Pacebi Socialist Party (PSP) and the Pupmintang (PMT).

Many key members of the already existing government could align themselves with these two, and there became essentially two figureheads for the parties themselves: Daystalin with the PSP, Llama with the PMT, and most everyone else being moderates or unaligned.

The Zionist Crisis

Following The Grand Schism, the differences between the two major parties continue to rapidly accelerate, not in the least by the PMT's propping up of a deeply hated and controversial figure of the government, someone known as Axy. The debate was not over Axy herself, but over the held beliefs of Zionism. Both parties believed Zionism to be wrong, but the PMT, who had majority control in the government at the time, insisted that there was nothing to be done about hateful ideologies such as Zionism. This drastically reduced any legitimacy the PMT claimed to have due to the widespread disdain for zionism. Despite this, the power of the bourgeois grew, and the influence of the PMT continued to grow stronger and stronger, a nigh stranglehold on the state, and many members of the PSP and unaligned members genuinely considered leaving. This would change rapidly over the course of approximately four months, in the August Debates and Elections.

The August Debates

In August 2025, a heated debate broke out over the topic of Zionism on Pacebi. Debates over Zionism were nothing new, but this was an exception from the norm, and something many Pacebi historians believe to be the start of the end of the Pupmintang. The Zionist side was supported primarily by three people, Axy, Caeser, and ******. ****** was an oft-disliked member of the PMT who primarily stood in support with the Zionist wing. Caeser was a legacy member of the Republic of Pacebi who drew the ire of countless people. In the past, many held back their true opinions on Zionism and the PMT as a whole. In the August Debates, however, the proletariat made incredibly clear how deep their hatred of Zionism and Zionists went. Following this, ****** and Caeser revoked their own citizenship, and left.

Following the August Debates, many members of the Pacebi Socialist Party began to recognize that they had the ability to make things better for the server. In August 2025, two members of the Pacebi Socialist Party and one anti-PMT unaligned member ran for the position of moderator, and received massive internal and domestic support. These elections changed the balance of power from a continuously pro-PMT government to a pro-PSP government. WIth that, the social structure of Pacebi completely changed.

The Interregnum

Following the August Elections, a period known as the Interregnum began, marked by widening distrust between pro-PMT and pro-PSP citizens. The Interregnum represented a period of uncertainty; trapped in between the removal of power of one faction and before the consolidation of another. During this period, decorum began to break down. Members of the Official Opposition in the PMT increasingly resorted to ad hominem attacks due to the ever increasing disdain from the public towards them. Tensions between the two parties continued to rise until a breaking point in November: The Astatine Tongue Incident.

The previously mentioned Axy was discussing how she broke her mouse and needed a new one “that could take a beating,” leading to Astatine, who had returned roughly two months following the begin of the Daystalin regime and had recently been elected in the August elections, asking the question “What are you doing to your mice that you need one that takes a beating?”

This question led to a two hour long argument in which Astatine was hardly involved aside from saying near the end “Sticks my tongue out at you”. This sentence led to the self-banishment of Axy to the Doghouse. While The Interregnum did not officially end until January 2026, with the self-banishment of Puddle Llama and the passing of The 2026 Pacebian Constitution (The Daystalin Constitution), this event is marked by many historians as the beginning of the end of the Interregnum, and marked a period of rapid consolidation by the Pacebi Socialist Party.

The Formation of The People’s Republic of Pacebi (The Daystalin Constitution)

Following the Astatine Tongue Incident, the PSP Majority government declared that the Republic of Pacebi had failed, and that liberation could only come through the complete reorganization of the state, including a new constitution. This also contained the declaration of the Pacebi People's Republic, a socialist state operating off of democratic centralism. Chairman of the PSP Daystalin declared that a crackdown on hateful ideology, including Zionism, would be a primary objective in the new government. However, political gridlock from remaining PMT members in the government kept change gradual, until PSP member Buns made a cutting remark towards Axy on an uncovered espionage mission to the Doghouse.

This mission was done for the purposes of finding out if members of the Doghouse were actively debating whether or not incest was bad. they were. diplomatic ties were cut.

Many members of the PMT, including leader Puddle Llama, were infuriated by this incident, and similar to those before them, self-banished themselves to the Doghouse. Thus completed nigh total consolidation of the PSP. The new year arrived, and with it, the passing of the Daystalin Constitution. Thus, the Pacebi People's Republic was born.

The Cultural Revolution (De-Liberalization)

The Daystalin Constitution gave extended powers to the newly established Pacebi Proletarian Politburo to remove the Pro-Doghouse and Anti-Pacebi stragglers that had remained following the national reorganization. This included past criminals and overall enemies of the people, including former Presidential Candidate Ace of Hearts, who'd received a pardon from the PMT controlled Catboi regime. This also included Mask3d, a member of the politburo who declared the new Pacebi People's Republic as illegitimate. Several spies of the Doghouse were uncovered and banned, including ******’s alt account. Incoming members were also scanned for hateful ideologies in a far more indepth way, including zionism (declared hateful by the 2026 Pacebian Constitution). This period of societal consolidation was known as the Pacebi Cultural Revolution. This led to the labeling of Axy and other Doghouse members as enemies of the state, and a process known as De-Liberalization or De-Doghousization began, removing counter-revolutionary emotes and reworking channels to be more appropriate with the new laws of the state (including the required censorship of ******’s name)

The Golden Age

Following the sweeping and vast reforms of the new government and the cultural revolution, the server entered a period of slowdown for a few months. This period was not due to mismanagement, rather a retreat back to solitude. There were even debates of shutting down the server after several infiltration attempts from reactionaries and liberals alike. However, this did not happen.

Well-liked server member Renfrii, who left due to resentment of the PMT returned during this time.

June 2026 was a boom for the server. For many people, more time began to free up. Along with that, queer people all over the internet were looking for places to speak. Many people began to join, some of whom became active members. Currently, the server is sitting in a period of peace and quiet, a true golden age for the server.
